The Lamiglas Surf Rodsí Tri-Flex Graphite surf rod is made out of the finest materials. This is the main reason why these rods are so popular. The Tri-Flex Graphite Surf is made out of a graphite base that is lightweight making it easy to carry and handle. Over this light base is an overwrap made out of fiberglass making the surf rod sturdy and capable of catching even the heaviest of fishes. The third and last layer is made up of graphite again from the bottom to the middle of the rod, further reinforcing the power and durability of the surf rod. When you put all the three layers together, you get a surf rod that is very strong, powerful and very durable. Other components of this surf rod include Fuji reel seats, Fuji aluminum oxide guides, and grips made out of cork tape. The finishing of this handy and strong rod include having a black wrap all over the stick with metallic green trimmings here and there.

I have the 8'6" and I like it for both braid and mono but it is a little tip heavy. I recommended them to a friend of mine and he bought the 9'6" and on his first cast the ring in the tip top popped out. I am assuming that it was damaged during shipping. They are good rods for the money.

I use the 9.5 Triflex with the 6500 yellow Nautil spooled with 30lb. braid. The best day I have ever had in the surf was with this setup.

great rod

I have the 9 foot spin two piece and can tell you that rod works great with both mono and braid. I can load it up and cast well with it for distance. The best part is I can throw heavy pikies with no worry. The rod is very responsive, sets hooks quick when you set on a fish. With braid I have to let the fish set as it seemed I at first was ripping thier lips. . With pencil poppers I am able to put a lot of throw in my cast. If you hit the right spot the plug explodes off the rod.
The only draw back is the stiffness of the rod makes it tough to work a pencil popper. I tell people it feels like I'm trying to wiggle a piece of rebar. If your used to glass rods or lighter graphite, It takes a completely different style of popping you rod.
But I love it even with the stiffness, great rod.
